Underground art to be featured at RAW Detroit’s Envision show

If you’re an art lover and want to check out the raw “art underground” in Detroit head out to Saint Andrews Hall on February 14. You might just find the perfect Valentine’s Day gift while you’re there.

The event is RAW Detroit’s Envision show.

A piece of art from last year’s show.

RAW expects about 65 local artists to participate. All of them are focused on improving Detroit’s community and developing comradery through artistic expression and perseverance.

This artwork was at the RAW show last year.

“RAW is a fun and alternative way for artists to showcase both to their local community and the world-at-large,” says Tiffany Jordan, RAW artist experience director. “We are not your average art show. We are loud, colorful, creative, and all about our artists. We are RAW.”

When you get there you’ll roam through rows of local visual art and photography displays. When you get to the stage you’ll be greeted with interactive live musical performances and other performance art.

Head up the stairs to check out the boutique area where local artisans will be selling their handcrafted clothing and accessories.

There will also be hair and makeup models rotating on pedestals. The night ends with a fashion show made up of Detroit’s latest underground styles.
