You might call it “Shark Tank,” tech-style.
Not unlike that barely contained enthusiasm of contestants in the popular ABC reality series, the eager excitement of local entrepreneurs will be on display at TechTown Detroit, 440 Burroughs St., Aug. 10. DTX Launch Detroit’s 2017 Showcase welcomes tech entrepreneurs to pitch their savvy ideas or innovative products, services and apps in an evening of snacks and refreshments, a guest speaker, and awards for winning concepts.
David Segura, CEO of Vision IT, one of the nation’s largest minority-owned companies, including businesses in Latin America and the Philippines, will give the keynote address at 5:30 p.m. Just before 6 p.m. hopeful tech geniuses who sign up to present before a panel of experts and the public, which is welcome to attend, will try dazzling the audience. An opportunity to win support to launch a tech startup awaits the best and brightest concept.
Supported by Michigan Economic Development Corp. and New Economy Initiative for Southeast Michigan, DTX Launch Detroit is a partnership between TechTown Detroit, Detroit Creative Corridor Center, Grand Circus, Henry Ford Innovation Institute, Invest Detroit, and NextEnergy.
