Small businesses are growing in concert with valuable resources
Small businesses continue to open on a regular basis in Detroit, according to The LEE Group Founder Mark S. Lee, who is among advocates helping start-ups, stay up in Detroit.

It’s no surprise that demand for small business resources is growing in concert with neighborhood and small business expansions. Among upcoming small business resources, is the LEE Group’s annual Small Business Workshops presented by Fifth Third Bank. This year’s event, the organization’s fifth annual, will take place on Tuesday, May 7  at Detroit’s TechTown from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m..

A cross section of industry experts will share insider secrets regarding small business and development trends at the event, which includes panel discussions, workshops, breakout sessions and vendor exhibits, according to Mark S. Lee, the founder and principal of the LEE Group.

“We are proud this is the fifth annual Small Business Workshop and pleased it has become an integral part of Small Business Week in May,” says Lee.  “It provides important information, access to resources and networking opportunities for entrepreneurs looking to grow and sustain their business while navigating the headwinds of change.”

He continues, “And we are proud Fifth Third Bank is the presenting sponsor.  They believe in supporting entrepreneurship and continue to be an outstanding partner.  Without their support, we would not be in our fifth year.”

“Small businesses are the backbone of the economy and community. They make vital contributions to the local job markets and neighborhoods,” said David Girodat, Regional President of Fifth Third Bank in Eastern Michigan, who notes that programs such as these provide valuable tools and resources to businesses.

This year’s participants will learn how to navigate the challenges of running a business including understanding customer’s behavioral purchase patterns, economic patterns and financial value, in addition to gaining social media skills.

Among event sponsors are presenting sponsor Fifth Third Bank, Detroit Development Fund, Michigan Women Forward, State Farm affiliate Cindy Fletcher Insurance Agency, Inc., America’s SBDC Michigan, National Entrepreneurs Association, and media partners WWJ 950 Newsradio and Detroit Public TV.
