A visit to Eastern Market July 17 could lead to a better life.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Shed No. 3 at the historic vendor, shopping and restaurant plaza, 2934 Russell St., a free Community Health Fair will welcome passersby and concerned Detroit residents striving for wellness. At no cost, services and screenings, including immunization, blood pressure readings and other basic monitoring, will be provided to all ages.
“We hope that families take full advantage of this opportunity to prioritize the health of both themselves and their loved ones by joining us on July 17,” says Norris Howard, division manager of Community Re-Entry/Jail Diversion Services for Central City Integrated Health. “We expect a busy day of at least 600 people benefitting from the event’s services this year.”
Joining Central City Integrated Health in supporting the annual health fair are such partners as Third Circuit Mental Health Court, Detroit Wayne Mental Health Authority, and the Wayne County Department of Health Veterans and Community Wellness-Community Corrections Division.
Central City Integrated Health provides treatment and services in conjunction with creating housing opportunities and reducing homelessness. The organization provides comprehensive, primary medical, behavioral health and dental care to residents of Detroit and Wayne County.
