Sheriff’s Office seeks support for annual children’s Christmas program

Like so many of us, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office believes no child should be without a Christmas.

To make sure that doesn’t happen for dozens of Detroit children, the office is asking for donations for its annual “No Child Without a Christmas” gift-shopping spree next week.

Sheriff Benny Napoleon and other supporters of the program invite the public to its Goodfellows Fundraiser party to benefit the youth recipients. Pre-selected children will enjoy Christmas gifts with the support of donors and guests who attend the party at 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14 at the Key Club, 1440 East Franklin St.

Admission to the event that features food, music and a live auction are $20. Business sponsorships are available.

“We want to ensure that when Christmas rolls around those in need have even more incentive to smile and that they know they are loved and cared for at home and also by those of us in the community.” Napoleon says.

Additional donations can be made by check, payble to WCSO Youth & Senior Education Fund, 4747 Woodward Ave. For more information visit www.waynecounty.com/sheriff.
