Setting sail can help set local students up for the future.
At 5:30 p.m. July 11 a cruise on the Diamond Belle will double as a fundraiser to support seniors at nearby Martin Luther King High School.
“Sailing for Scholarships,” a two-hour tour of the river hosted by Rivertown Detroit, will generate money to help send graduating students to college. The cruise departs from 201 Joseph Campau across from the Rattlesnake Club.
Boarding is recommended by 5 p.m. and the tour includes pizza, cash bar, and a raffle.
Part of the Diamond Jack tour company, the Diamond Belle is a “mini-ship” built in 1958 and used mainly for group tours and private charters.
