Palmer Woods Music in Homes moves to the gardens (with a tour of home) for a special Father’s Day Weekend JazzFest. Here’s the schedule:

• Friday, June 15 with Planet D Nonet Salute to Billy Strayhorn (one of the most significant composers of the 20th century widely known for his work for Duke Ellington) and
• Saturday, June 16 with Gayelynn McKinney McKinFolk Septet’s tribute to the legendary jazz master Harold McKinney (her Pop, ancestor, and mentor).

Both concerts are preceded by a tour of a portion of a stately Palmer Woods 7,000-sq-ft mansion designed by Robert O. Derrick, notable architect of the Henry Ford Museum at Greenfield Village (it’s designated as a National Historic Landmark).
