Whether you want to start-up or rev-up your small business, there are resources available in the LGBT community.
One is a four-course training series specifically focused on retail and small businesses focused on the B2B marketplace.
The series is the centerpiece of the newly-launched Mature Business Academy (M.B.A.) supported by the Detroit Regional LGBT Chamber of Commerce.
Seasoned industry veterans will share their business insights and knowledge with participants throughout the series.
Speakers from Michigan.com, City of Detroit Mayor’s Office, Well Fargo Advisors, ATS advisors, and Pridesource Media Group are among those scheduled for the 4-part series.
“The Mature Business Academy program has become a vital resource to our members as they develop their businesses and engage in networking,” said Kevin Heard, Detroit President. “The program supports our mission of supporting our members through business leadership, advocacy, and education.”
Enrollment is now open for the classes, which start February 25.
Topics are specifically focused on retail and small B2B businesses and include:
Marketing/Advertising & Technology Feb 25, 2017
Financing & Auditing March 25, 2017
Space Development April 29, 2017
Back Office Management May 20, 2017
The Mature Business Academy is expected to become the standard training program for all LGBT and ally professionals in the region, according to organizers.
The program was funded by grants from Wells Fargo and the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC).
Editor’s note: The 4-class series cost of $250 is waived with a small business membership. Individual classes are $75. For more information, contact DRLGBTCC President Kevin Heard at 313-673-3001 or visit: www.detroitlgbtchamber.com.
