Journalism today: Where’s the truth in an era of social media, divisive politics, declining revenues?

Just where is journalism going these days?

What’s its future?

How do journalists and publicists uphold the truth in these very troubling, divisive times?

Find out on Wednesday, March 7 at 7:00 p.m. when the Detroit Press Club and Southfield Public Library present a panel of journalists and media experts to discuss the issues in the library’s auditorium. The panelists include TheHUB Detroit’s Eddie Allen; Ed Garsten, who writes for Automotive News and is the former digital manager of Fiat Chrysler Automotive; Jennifer Foster from Catalyst Media Factory, and Matt Roush, who heads up newsletters and communications for  Lawrence Technological University.

The panel will discuss the vast changes in readership and revenues, the unlimited power to disrupt and divide with Facebook, Google and Photoshop and how citizens can become more involved in their consumption of news.

Moderating the panel will be Maureen McDonald, a contributor to TheHUB Detroit and program vice president for the Detroit Press Club.
