Henry Ford Health System will hold free immunization events on Aug. 4, 6, and 7.
The Saturday, Aug. 6 event will be held at the Straight Gate International, 10100 Grand River Ave., from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. On Monday, Aug. 6, and Tuesday, Aug. 7, it will be held at the Baptist Mission and Educational Convention New Providence Missionary Baptist, 18211 Plymouth Rd., from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
At the event parents can learn more about the importance of childhood immunization and help get their child up-to-date on some CDC-recommended vaccinations. They can help protect their children by visiting the Henry Ford Health System’s mobile vaccination unit and receiving educational resources focused on health and wellness.
According to the Center for Disease Control, among children born during 1994-2013, routine vaccinations will prevent an estimated 322 million illnesses, 21 million hospitalizations, and 732,000 deaths over the course of their lifetimes. This free event is open to all families in the community.
