Students at Detroit’s largest Catholic university attend one of the best campuses in the state and region, says one distinguished ranking.
U.S. News & World Report lists University of Detroit Mercy at No. 19 top in its “Regional Universities Midwest,” citing its community outreach, competitive basketball team and other traits. Faculty-to-student ratio, diversity of curricula and other criteria helped determine Detroit Mercy’s inclusion on the list.
Additionally, Detroit Mercy won a U.S. Department of Education Upward Bound grant of $1.3 million and recently increased enrollment at the campus of almost 5,000 students, according to university officials. The enrollment boost marks the school’s third consecutive year of growth at the campus.
