Bank of America, Salvation Army provide 10,000 holiday meals for those in need

Families in need across Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties will have terrific holiday meals thanks to Bank of America and the Salvation Army.

For the fifth consecutive year, Bank of America volunteers are packing Bountiful Boxes at the Salvation Army’s Detroit Harbor Light for its holiday distribution to families across those counties.

The 10,000 holiday food boxes come in four distinct cultural holiday menu options, including traditional, southern, Hispanic and Middle Eastern.

The need is great. In Macomb, Oakland and Wayne Counties, one in five children live in poverty. In the tri-county area 500,000 people including nearly 200,000 children, live in poverty, according to Forgotten Harvest.
