Navigating the Headwinds of Crisis workshop series aims to help entrepreneurs gear up for reopening

Small businesses are beginning to ramp back up and adjust to new business requirements. Maintaining recommended safety requirements and social distancing are key to Detroit small shop owners’ respective ability to re-engage customers and restore consumer confidence, particularly in bricks and mortar shops, according to Mark S. Lee, the founder of  The LEE Group.

Lee will share insights on these and other standards at an upcoming Small Business Workshop, taking place June 17. The event is a part of a free workshop series presented by Fifth Third Bank continuing through July.

The series, Navigating the Headwinds of Crisis , will  focus on business recovery, sustainability and pivoting during these extraordinary times, according to Lee.  In subsequent weeks, each workshop topic will be led by a subject matter expert. Participants can expect to glean answers to important questions including:

What can I do now for my business?

How do I recover and achieve business sustainability and ultimately, growth?

What methods work?

What strategies can be implemented to address these challenges?

“Despite how the pandemic has changed our way of life, business must continue in order to protect our economy and our communities. It simply must be conducted in different ways,” says David Girodat, Regional President of Fifth Third Bank in Eastern Michigan.

In addition to Fifth Third Bank, sponsors for this year’s event include Comcast Business, Detroit Development Fund, Michigan Women Forward, Tanner Friedman, Cindy Fletcher, State Farm Agent and America’s SBDC Michigan and Detroit Public TV.

Editor’s Note:  The Small Business Workshop, presented by Fifth Third Bank will be conducted through a series of online sessions kicking off 6/17, followed by sessions 6/24 24, 7/15, 7/22 and 7/29. Learn more at the LEE Group
