Sometimes there’s nothing like the taste of a good cookie. It can be gooey or crunchy – or it can even be cookie dough. Any of them can awaken the cookie monster in you.
D’Vine Cookies & Dough wants to feed that cookie monster. On Monday, Sept. 17, it is offering up a free cookie to celebrate its grand opening in the New Center One building at 3031 W. Grand Blvd.
The Ferndale-based gourmet cookie company will hand out free samples from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its first-floor kiosk, next to Kelly Services. This is the cookie maker’s first location in Detroit.
“The D in our name, D’Vine Cookies & Dough, stands for ‘Detroit,’ so it’s only fitting that our newest location is in the D,” says Rebecca Abel, founder and CEO of D’Vine Cookies & Dough.
D’Vine Cookies & Dough is known for its cookies and edible cookie dough. Its cookies include traditional chocolate chip, chocolate salted caramel, cinnamon sugar, vegan/gluten-free double chocolate, peanut butter chocolate chip, and more.
“We are so excited to bring our cookies, catering services and our cookie truck to such a rapidly growing area of Detroit,” says Abel. “I love the neighborhood feel of New Center and all of the new businesses and development projects taking place here.”
The New Center One location will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday-Friday.
D’Vine Cookies & Dough makes its products fresh daily in a commercial kitchen on Woodward Avenue in Ferndale. It also has another location at The Rust Belt Market in Ferndale, which is open every Friday-Sunday.
The cookies are also sold at Detroit Bubble Tea and Western Market in Ferndale, and the company’s distinctive cookie truck makes regular stops throughout metro Detroit.
“Our vegan and gluten-free cookies are especially popular,” says Abel. “It has everything to do with the type and quality of ingredients we use. People who follow special diets face a lot of limits, especially when it comes to baked desserts. Our gluten-free, vegan cookies don’t taste ‘limiting.’ We’re thrilled to bring these delicious options to the city we love.”
