Youth Community Agency to provide lunch for less fortunate July 4th

The Youth Community Agency, along with Detroit business owners and volunteers, will give back on the Fourth of July holiday to less fortunate families in the Cass Corridor community with a free lunch.

The fourth annual “Hot Dogs for HOPE Hot Dog Giveaway” will take place at the corner of Martin Luther King and 3rd Street.

The fourth annual “Hot Dogs for HOPE Hot Dog Giveaway” will take place on Wednesday, July 4 beginning at 11 a.m. at the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and 3rd Street.

Rodnesha Ross, founder and CEO of the Youth Community Agency, says she plans to have “Hot Dogs for HOPE” at least two more times before the summer ends. She says her ability to give back to the community is one of her prized possessions.

“The less fortunate have no age, race or specific circumstance to be in need,” Ross says.

There is still time to donate or volunteer, she says, but please do so today, Tuesday, July 3. The organization is willing to pick up food items in order to include them in lunches. Please call 248-759-6014 for more information.

“This is an event that you truly want to be a part of because the impact is going to be priceless, and it will nourish the soul during any holiday season,” Ross says.

Sponsors include include Mogul Life, Pray Hustle Slay, Infinity Events, DuPree Training, Consulting Services, Detroit Fire Department, Better Made Chips and  Young Kingz Clothing.

The Youth Community Agency’s mission is to empower youth, connect the community and provide services for success. It focuses on empowering teen moms who are expecting or already have a child. The goal is to bridge the gap from graduating to getting career goals in place to have a greater future for their family.

Ross says the intention of this event is to expand the gift of giving beyond youth and teenage mothers.
