Free day at Henry Ford Museum on Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Admission to the Henry Ford Museum will be free on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Jan. 15.

It’s a great time to come celebrate King’s life and the many people who had the extraordinary courage and commitment to ask for more from their nation on civil rights.

The day includes admission and free parking, activities and dramatic presentations.

You can sit in the Rosa Parks Bus and hear the story of her courageous act. There’s also the opportunity to see the 30-minute show “Minds on Freedom,” which celebrates the contributions of King, Parks and other civil rights champions such as Fannie Lou Hamer, Gloria Rackley and the Freedom Riders. You will be able to sing, carry a protest sign and interact with the performers. You, too, can make history.

The museum is open from 9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
