We know our America’s Thanksgiving Parade is spectacular, and now the whole country knows it.
America’s Thanksgiving Parade presented by Art Van was voted second in the Best Holiday Parade category in the USA Today 10Best Reader’s Choice travel award contest.
“Detroit has been hosting America’s Thanksgiving Parade (originally called the Michigan Thanksgiving Parade) since 1924,” the contest says. “Since then, it has grown to become one of the largest and most popular parades in the country, complete with marching bands, helium balloons and colorful, larger-than-life floats making their way down historic Woodward Avenue each Thanksgiving morning.”
Mummers Parade in Philadelphia was voted No. 1.
“We are thrilled that America’s Thanksgiving Parade presented by Art Van was voted one of the top parades in the country by the public,” says Tony Michaels, president & CEO of The Parade Company, which produces the parade. “Our goal is to make the Parade bigger and better each year for the thousands of families lining Woodward Avenue.
“The Parade is also broadcast in more than 190 cities across the country, putting Detroit on a national stage. We are incredibly grateful to our wonderful sponsors and the Detroit community who continue to generously support the Parade,” he says.
