With Detroit’s weather finally warming up, grab your favorite pup and get outside. April 9: 10:30 a.m. Canine to Five Detroit invites you to grab your dog and join one the coolest walks around. Bring a leash and plenty of water for you and your pooch. Free parking at Rivard Plaza located at 1340 Atwater Street. This program runs monthly throughout the winter months. Walk the city and learn about its history from these Detroit experts. April 9: 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Detroit Experience Factory 123 Monroe St. Detroit, MI 48226 313-962-4590 Take a guided walking tour showcasing Detroit’s major developments, unique shops, one-of-a-kind restaurants and recently renovated residential options. You’ll also see some of Detroit’s great historical spots and world-renowned architecture. If weather permits, participants walk the entire tour. In cases of inclement weather, the People Mover will be used for transportation. Individuals are not required to preregister, but registration of large groups is appreciated. Cost: Free. Creativity is unleashed at this impressive collection. Arts & Scraps: Check out this Earth Month event led by entrepreneur, artist and Arts & Scraps Alumni, DaTrice Clark! Upon entering, attendees will receive a shopping bag to indulge in the full Arts & Scraps experience. Kids will explore the store and fill their bags with donated goods such as scrap fabric, holiday ornaments, and puzzle pieces to name a few of the things they will find. After filling the shopping bag with recycled materials, gather in the classroom to create art in honor of Earth Day. Babies, Babies Everywhere at Wolcott Mill Metropark in Ray Township. Take a spring break trip to the farm for a leisurely tour to see baby animals. Farm helpers will be available in the barns to answer questions and sit on straw bales with the animals for photos with children.
