Get ready for a spectacular month of music as The Preservation of Jazz presents April Jazz Appreciation Month, featuring a series of extraordinary tributes honoring jazz legends at Aretha’s Jazz Café. The celebration kicks off Monday, March 31st, and leads up to International Jazz Day on April 30th, bringing together some of Detroit’s finest jazz musicians to pay homage to the icons who shaped this timeless genre.

April 30th – International Jazz Day Grand Finale: The Iconic Jazz Photo in Detroit Location to be announced.
To close out Jazz Appreciation Month, we invite all jazz musicians, vocalists, and lovers of the art form to participate in Detroit’s third installment of the Iconic Jazz Photo, recreating the legendary 1958 “A Great Day in Harlem” photograph. This historic tribute honors Detroit’s deep jazz roots, capturing the vibrant and enduring spirit of our local jazz community. All musicians are welcome!
Each night, doors open at 6:00 PM, with shows starting at 7:00 PM. Tickets range from $35-$50, and guests can enjoy live jazz in an intimate setting with food and a cash bar available.
